DirecTV Installation Tech

Job Description 


DirecTV Installation technician

Department:  Video Installation Team

Location:  Weekly Travel

Job Title:  DirecTV Installation Technician

Reports To:  Program Manager

Type of Position:  Full-time, 40hrs+/week


General Description:

This position requires a self-starter with a positive attitude.  Duties include installation of satellite components and documentation.  Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal) are critical.  Must be able to work independently, be self-sufficient, flexible and a team player.  An install technician must take action to become familiar with all equipment through research, documentation, and available training.  Attributes of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

     ·  Travel to site via planes, trains and automobiles across the USA.  Traveling to projects on Sundays is required. Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record.

     ·  Must pass Criminal Background search.

     ·  Tools, laptop and company credit card are provided.

     ·  Daily communication and reporting of status and scheduling with supervisor

     ·  Assist with system setup and programming as needed.  

     ·  Maintain reasonable scheduling flexibility.

     ·  Maintain current knowledge of all Pinnacle Communications offered solutions.

     ·  Skilled with PC operation and various software programs- Microsoft Office, Cisco AnyConnect, RSA, PCAnywhere, Remote Desktop, VPN, Putty, Telnet, etc.

     ·  Experience with cable management 

     ·  Basic understanding of remote access, configurations, and networking knowledge

     ·  Basic knowledge of TV programming/troubleshooting

     ·  To be able to lead a team/train as needed on installations

     ·  To be able to provide onsite training to the properties

     ·  Provide excellent customer service


Preferred Work Experience:

     ·  2 or more years of networking or cable/satellite installations or service

     ·  One or more years of customer service experience

     ·  One or more years of installation experience


Education Requirements:

     ·  High School Diploma


Salary and Benefits:

     ·  Paid Time Off (PTO) - 17 days per year plus

     ·  9 Paid Holidays

     ·  401k Match of 4%

     ·  Health Insurance Allowance Pinnacle pays 50% and Employee pays 50%

     ·  Hourly Wage (depending on experience):  $20-25 /hour
